Rules of Logo Design 800 400 Urban Geko Design

Your logo is a visual representation of your company. It needs to stand out above the rest to leave a lasting impression on the consumer. Designing a logo can be tricky, but the Urban Geko team came up with a few design rules to follow to make this process a little easier.

1. Avoid lots of detail

Clean and simple logos are easier to recognize and usually scale better than logos with lots of detail. Your logo will be used across many different mediums so you want your logo to look just as good large as it does small.

2. Use appropriate colors

Colors can evoke feelings and moods. Use colors that represent your business. For example red are usually associated with warnings and greens are usually associated with nature.

3. Make your logo unique

Your logo needs to stand out from the competition. Do not be scared to try something new.

4. Typography is important

Do not use more than two fonts in your logo design. The font needs to be legible and appropriate for your company.
